I never saw Mrs. Rigsby discouraged or stressed. Her joy of teaching was evident and her faith in God was also. May we smile, as she did so much, when we remember her. My prayers are with those of you family members. She was born in the same year as my mother who has survived a stroke and is still with us.
What a wonderful, inspiring, always positive, always encouraging, loving, "I believe in you" person. Her attitude and daily example influenced thousands of us ... and will live on through all of us. Thanks for teaching all of us Shafovaloff kids. Thanks for being a friend to my mom in the Barlow Class at Myrtle Grove Methodist. Church. I know you are wanting us to now do for others what you did for us. A grateful thanks.
What can be said of a life that made such a difference. I graduated with Randy in 1971. I can still hear Mrs. Rigsby say "I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the class of 1971 is the best that has ever walked the halls of Escambia High School." Wonder how many classes she said that to? (laughing) She continues to live in the hearts of her family and all the many lives that are better because of her. May God bless her family as they learn to live without her.
Farewell Mrs. Risby-- we love you and will miss you.
Escambia High School Class of 1972, of which Mrs. Rigsby was the class sponsor, extends their sincere condolences on her loss. She was a wonderful lady and great friend, and will be sorely missed.
