Condolences from the family of Elvira Castillo. Rest in peace Blas.
Gina, John Jr. & Gus,
My sincere condolences in the loss of your beloved grandfather. I have known Blas since I was a child and my parents moved one house away. It was a sad moment when he took his last breath. I know the pain you were feeling, it is so difficult to let go of someone that you love & care so very much for. Although I knew he was in extremely poor health, at that moment I was still somewhat in sort of a state of unbelief. It all just seemed like I was in a daze, we go through things so quickly and time keeps flying on by. I am grateful to have been with you and able to join you in prayer during his last moments. You have all been such awesome grandchildren and both your grandparents were blessed to have you watching over them as they became more and more in need of your help. I'm sure your grandfather felt like he had already died and gone to heaven and began living the good life in paradise since the day he moved into John Jr.'s loving home and under your protective watch. You gave him a refreshed purpose in life and somewhat of a new beginning. I believe that all the special one-on-one attention, pure love of his family, warmth and comfort of your home, and all the laughs & joy that he got from being around all of you helped extend his life. As we all witnessed, he truly passed away ever so peacefully. You are all so very amazing! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your extended families, I am truly sorry for the great loss of a very nice & kind hearted man.
Uncle Blas was a wonderful man. I remember when he would come over our house my mother, his sister Virginia, her eyes would just light up. And was so happy too see him.She was so proud of him. And we thought he was pretty special. You all were pretty lucky to have him in your life each and every day. I'am so sorry for your loss. May the Lord comfort you, and give you all strength through your time of saddness. He was a great man. God Bless. RIP Uncle Blas. Always, Rebecca Rizo Lopez. ( Virginia Alvarran Rizo's daughter)
