Although I never met Dr. Jepson face to face, I've had a special email friendship with him for the past three and a half years. Eight of his lovely retinal drawings from the early 1960's are featured in my book the Lost Art of Retinal Drawing, more images than any of the other "artists," and I was so lucky to make some connections and get two more of his drawings published, one as a journal cover and one in a journal article that I wrote with my coauthor Dr. Steve Russell. Dr. Jepson thanked me profusely for the recognition, and I thanked him for his stories and his art.
I want to offer my deepest sympathy to his family. He was quite a wonderful man.
