Dad,
you'll never be there to see my first Quest report card
you'll never see me drive
you'll never see me go to prom
nor graduate
but im thankful
because you did see me ride my bike
you did see me fish
you did see me try and fail...
you got to see me become a loving teenage son
now I have to make you proud..
and become a man..

My thoughts and prayers are with the Avila family. Charles was the only one in the family that I did not have as a student. However, he would come to my classroom and check on all his siblings. He was a very caring person. He even told me that he would leave Potrero school during lunch recess and go to his home. I guess he really didn't like the food at school. Can't blame him. May your memories of Charles bring you all comfort.

To Charles' family: I am very sorry for your loss I did business over the phone with him for a year and a half. We discussed mostly business but from time to time we had little conversations about our lives. He told me: Sorry not a fan of American Idol. I do not like The Jets, but I’m rooting for Mark Sanchez Just because he’s from L.A. my home town. The Jets should be able to beat the Steelers then the Packers in the Super Bowl. Another note I had was that: Spoke with Charles for awhile he has now lived in Houston for almost four years, he lived in LA area and then Phoenix. Phoenix was his favorite and he wishes he would have stayed there. He did not surf but he really like 4 wheeling and sand buggies on the beach. I Just wanted to share a little with the family - he was wonderful to work with and I know he will be missed.
