Richard and I belonged to the same Sunday School Class at Westminster Presbyterian Church, prior to his joining the Episcopalian Church. I/we joined the Methodist Church after we married. As Richard's Budget Director in the Tennessee Dept. of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities (& for the then Commission on Children and Youth)I knew Richard well. He, his lovely wife, and in my era his very young children were always a delight and just plain fun to be with, be it at work or socially. Knowing Richar's deep Christian faith I know he has been promoted to Heaven and life eternal. As Richard's widowed sister in law goes to our Methodist Church here in Alabama, I knew he was unwell but time and my own struggle with cancer distracted me to only now, 2015, realize that Richard is gone in a mortal sense, now with all believing Christians for ever and ever, as the refrain goes. Peace to his family, no matter how late I am to realize Richard Treadway's departure. It was Dr. Treadway who helped me transition from his TN Dept. of Mental Health to the Office of the US Surgeon General of the US Public Health Service. I moved up into the US Department of Veterans Affairs from which I am now retired. Again, my apologies at this very tardy condolence from George, Alice, Sara (an Architect), Susanna (an AP English Teacher at Centennial High and Girls Cross County Coach (with two Vanderbilt degrees)& Rebecca Singleton (Phillips), a former Christian Missionary to Buenos Aires, Argentina, teaches AP Spanish at Homewood High here in Alabama and the Girls Cross County Coach and Assistant Track Coach at Homewood High. married and the Mother of our recently arrived Grandson, Micah Phillips. PS - Like Richard I enjoy genealogy very much as a hobby. What a good friend and fine fellow was Richard Treadway, as his family well knew most of all.

We are sad to learn of our dear Brother Charles Richard Franklin Treadway's passing. From our Brothers and Sisters of the Priory of St. Andrew we send our condolences to the family. He was a great supporter of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem.

May his soul rest in peace.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with such a kind and pleasant man. He often asked me about my family and grandchildren, and happily listened to tales of our adventures. I pray God will bless and comfort each family member in a special way during this difficult time.
