Chuck served as Newsletter Editor for Birmingham Chapter Sons of the American Revolution for six years and did an excellent job. He cheerfully made deadlines even when copy was late and never complained. He was very proud that one of his ancestors fought for America's Freedom in 1776. He was one of the most unselfish men I have known and we all knew he walked with God. He was appreciated by his Compatriots and will be missed, but not forgotten.

I knew Charles from first grade through high school. I remember him as a nice and friendly person. He was very proud of his service in the U.S. Navy. Another classmate gone but not forgotten. RIP

I will never forget Mr. Whitcomb. If it weren't for him, I would have never gotten my beautiful dog, Sophie. I will miss him always. I will pray for his family in this hard time.

We met Chuck several years ago and we instantly bonded with him. We will miss him and we wish his family peace during this sad time.

Happy sailing. You were a vital link in our CVA-43 Association. It was always good talking to you. You always checked on us AIRDALES to make sure everyone/thing was OK.
