Clara Pauline Arduini

August 9, 2011
The cherished memories I have of Clara and the Arduini family are The Arduini/Mckone Christmases together - hosted in alternative years - The high light was always Joe's family Band performing. Clara's Christmas dinner featured home made pasta - It was all such fun. Clara's home was always welcoming and hospitality abounded. May she be greeted with love.

On behalf of the Robb Family (Murray, Marion, Ken, Cam, Brent, Warren and Laurie) I would like to express our sympathies to the Arduini family. Marion and Murray met Joe and Clara in Prince Rupert and lived next door to them in Prince George. This friendship was important to Marion during this time period as both of them were new to the areas and did not have many other friends. Also Clara introduced Marion to Italian cooking some of which became standard fare at the Robb household. Marion and Clara kept in contact thoughout the years.

I had the joy of getting to know Clara through flower arranging. She was a very special person. To be with her for only a few minutes was to love her . She phoned me once - - right out of the blue -- to thank me for making her appreciate the beauty of a tree in winter. In her soft, smile-filled voice she said, "Oh Joan , I've never noticed before -- the lines, the texture-- it was so wonderful! I had to phone you."
Her call reminded me to look for beauty in simple things and also to share new found beauty with friends
Clara loved and was so proud of her family. Those of us who attended her 80th birthday party were, quite honestly , envious of the close relationship they had. In today's world such a close bond is very rare and should be treasured.

I will always remember her.
