Connie Anderson taught me that regular people can be a political force as my 8th grade teacher. Today, I am active in a local League of Women Voters and hold an office in a small New England town. As a teacher, her work lives an in her students.

Connie introduced me to politics in 1969, as my sixth grade teacher at Peoria Elementary School in Aurora. She was a great inspiration to so many students and a great leader in her field and in our state. We shall all miss her, whether we knew her or not.

There wasn't a more spirited advocate for students and public education, for women's issues, and for human rights than Connie Anderson. I can't count the number of times she called for information on a hot issue - she could talk for hours! What a treasure Connie was to us in CEA and Colorado, and how I miss her.
