David Wayne Childress

December 30, 2013
I moved to Tuscaloosa in 1975 and met Wayne & Rosemarie in the early 1980's. Saw them thru the years at many activities. My prayers go out to Rosemarie, Becky, and family. Rev. Durham, First Presbyterian Church, did a beautiful job Sunday, Dec. 29th with Wayne's Memorial Service. Wayne's passing was a major loss to Tuscaloosa County ...his sincere kindness & honesty touched so many lives. He now is in the Heavenly Choir !!!

Rosemarie and Becky. Visiting with you yesterday brought back the memories of Wayne dating from law school, Horace Moon's house trailer, and then the daily contact in the Trust Department at First National. Wayne was always a great person to be around. He seemed to consistently know the right things to say and how to demonstrate his gentle and kind thoughts. I missed this contact after moving to Birmingham. Betty and I will be remembering you in our prayers.

Becky and Rosemarie, I'm so sorry about Wayne. He was such a good man, patient and generous and kind, selfless and always ready with a good sense of humor. He was a gift to the folks fortunate enough to know him and be around him. I always enjoyed the time I spent with him. We'll be thinking about you today and tomorrow and in the days ahead. Wishing you much peace.
