Dennis, we light a candle in your honor today. We are saddened at your passing way too early, but are joyful that you are "Home with your Lord". The stories told at your service today showed what a great, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, co-worker, and golfer you were. We got to know you a little better today. God bless you!

Rip Dennis... a good man, a good electricIan, and a pretty good golfer. I'll remember our day's at McClellan as some of the best...
My prayers are with you and your family...

As several of our shipmates have said as ship's company I did not know Dennis but I have great respect for him and the bravery shown as they fought the fire on the flight deck. From the Bridge I witness the flight deck crew bravery gathering up fire hoses and charging back in the fire.
Our Sympathy and Love goes out to all of Dennis's family.

I worked with Dennis at Kaiser. He was the man that could always make you smile and laugh no matter what you were going through. I will forever remember him saying, "oh, darlin,......" Always followed by words of encouragement. He adored his wife, Gail, and their little dog, Izzy. I miss him so much everyday coming to work bright eyed and bushy tailed and ALWAYS in shorts! I miss going out for drinks after work and laughing about all the silly problems at work. He was the sweetest, most generous man. And I guess heaven just couldn't wait for him to arrive. Much too soon though. Love and prayers to Dennis' family and friends. He will live on in our hearts forever until we meet again.

Dear Family: While I did not know Dennis, everyone on the flight deck that January morning has earned our eternal gratitude and respect. "You saved the ship indeed"! Thank you Dennis for your service and may you continue in fair seas! Roy "Bud" Duncan, VA-145 Seattle
