Today, I was thinking fondly about a time 30 years ago, as a young girl, I got a job as an "assistant secretary" for Forest Pest Management, and met a bunch of madcap scientists who had a really weird affinity for bark beetles, mountain pine beetles and other "hideous bugs." What a great group of guys they all were, knowing full well the uniqueness of their interests, and finding humor amongst their love of insects. I Googled Donn today, and saw that he had passed. Very strange that I would be thinking of him today of all days, but I guess people make an impression on you, and you never forget them.
Sharon and family: I am so sorry to hear of Donn's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May the lifetime of memories provide you comfort.
Sharon, we will miss Donn. But you must go on. We'll be home end of March.
Sharon and family- Sue and I were shocked to learn of Donn's passing. May he rest in peace.
I always remember my first day in the R.O. in 1974. It was Donn who was running the shop as everyone else was in Oregon on WSBW projects. He guided me around and got me settled in, later introducing us to Ginger Ale and beer. He loved life and he loved the woods. He was a "hoot" to watch as we all argued over everything in the office, half the time it was Donn setting the trap. I'll miss him, as will all who worked with him.
I know Donn is walking with Jesus and look forward to the day when I see him again-I think often of our times together.
