Dear Lizzy,
You have been such a wonderful daughter. You have put your life on-hold to make sure your mother was taken care of both in her home and as she transitioned into assisted living. I know you have gone to 3 grocery stores to find the exact food she requested. I know you have slept on the couch in her home to keep her safe from falls. I know you vowed to stay at her bedside to make sure she wasn't alone in her final hours. I listened as you told her to take your dad's hand when he came, her journey was over. Your mother was very fortunate to have such a loving and caring daughter who was totally devoted to her, right through the final moments of her life. This past year has been a very special gift, the gift of time to spend with your mom. In the coming weeks, those memories with your mom will provide you with strength as you begin your life without her. Comforting to know you have a special Angel watching over you, huh?
