Dear "Aunt" Dot,
It breaks my heart that I could not come to say good-bye to you today. Still, you were in the fore-ground of my thoughts all through the day. I wore a black ribbon pin on my shirt to represent my sadness in losing my beloved friend and honorary aunt. However, I also wore a smile most of the day to represent the happiness that you brought to so many lives; especially mine. It was a stressful day but I was determined to make it one of celebration; a celebration of life. You will be remembered often and with fondness. I am so glad that Daddy, Mama, Kathy, and Petie were able to come to say farewell to you on behalf of all of your honorary brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. You made this world a better place! Thank you for being (and wanting to be)a part of our lives. You had a innate quality of appropriateness in any moment as well as the style and beauty that a only a refined lady posesses. Still, your love for life and your quick laughter made others happier as they saw your eyes twinkle! Your life made a difference and I write these words because I want others to know it. (Anyone who met you knows this without me telling them.) I love you! May God bless you and may He wrap you in His arms as he welcomes you home!
May your journey from here be always blessed, carefree and joyous beyond anything I can imagine and at a level that only God can provide! You deserve it! I love you,
You will be missed & loved by many. I was so happy to see you at work. Every time I came in your room, we would squeeze each others hands when I was leaving, and I would say how happy I was to be on your hall. I will miss that so much, & won't ever forget it. You brought smiles to everyone's faces. It won't be the same without you. I know you're looking down on us smiling. I love you very much, & ill be seeing you again :)
You were mine and my sister's honorary aunt and we love you dearly. You added joy to our holiday gatherings and we thank you for sharing these happy times with us. We have many memories!
I being so excited when you and C.E. moved next door to us. I remember coming to the skating rink that you and C.E. managed and enjoyed seeing you both there. What a surprise it was to see each of you at Fort Gordon's cardiac clinic when I did my rotation there through MCG. It's always the best feeling to see close and dear friends, especially so far from home.
Please know how dearly you are loved. I have many treasured memories of you. I have kept your cards and letters and they are my treasures from a dear "aunt".
As you join loved ones in Heaven, I pray for you peace and eternal joy. Say "Hello" to C.E. I send my love to him as well. I know you're so happy to see him again and so many other loved ones. Give our dear little Peyton a big hug and tell him that his "GUS" loves him soooo very much!
Dot, you were the best and I love you! Until we meet again in Heaven, I bid you farewell.
Love and Prayers,
Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.
