Earl was THE MAN!! I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I knew him best as “The Paper Guy” or Earl, "The Pearl" from Wiggon, who was always well dressed in his signature suit coat and tie.

Earl was the kind of guy that just made you feel better when you saw him. He was always positive and in a good mood, even when it was obvious he may not have been feeling well or was moving a little slow that day. He would take an order for 2 wooden pencils with as much enthusiasm as if we were ordering an office worth of furniture, saying “They all add up!” Even if we didn't have an order for him he would thank us for our business and wish us a good day.

I remember years ago when he came in and shared a few letters he wrote to his family back home during the war. They were some of the most genuine heartfelt words I think I have ever read, dare I say inspiring. He told me that they were written by a scared kid with his head down saying his prayers in a foxhole. He was proud to have served his country.

To his family, take comfort in his memory. I have no doubt he's smiling down on you.

Rest in Peace, Earl “The Pearl”, you will be missed.

Dear Grampy,
You were the first love in my life as a little girl. I remember cuddling in your lap at night when you read stories to me. No matter where I was in this world growing up, you always took the time to stay in touch with a phone call or letter updating me on you and Nana. You always told me, "Your my first grandchild and don't you ever forget it!" You were a wonderful grandad to me and I will always have a piece of you in my heart.
Love Debbie
