Edgar C. Beaver

I'm shocked to have found this. I grew up with Nate for a few years in MN, some of the best years of my youth. My brother, Dirk, and I loved going to Mr. Beaver's house. We enjoyed hockey (and pizza afterwards), motorcycles and the outdoors. One of my fondest memories was when Mr. Beaver drove Nate, Dirk, and I up the river by his house, dropped us off, and then went to meet us at the bottom. The journey down stream in freezing cold water, wearing nothing but underwear, put some hair on our backs! Aside from being an exciting and fun rafting trip, it was a learning experience. Mr. Beaver was a wise man, and in sync with Mother Nature. Years later, when I read about John Muir, I thought of him. I remember him as always being exceptionally kind and patient. My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with his family, and especially warm regards to Nate. Your life with him would be the envy of many. Very Best Regards, Will Braun

I just ran across Ed's obit and am so sorry that he is gone. I grew up with Ed in Florissant, MO, and lost touch with him when I joined the service. We spent many nights camping together both in the Scouts and with his parents. I remember his first motorcycle, a Cushman two speed, that we had to push down the street to get started. Ed, Dave Hill and I were inseparable during junior and senior high! We did canoe races on the Current River and double dated to a Simon and Garfunkel concert at Washington University. I also remember the pet raccoon he had and would take camping with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you celebrate your memory of him. If you should ever want to get in touch, I can be reached at dale.w.hopkins@hotmail.com. Thank you so much for the pictures as he grew up exactly as I would have imagined.

A light has gone out here on earth. A new bright light has been lit in heaven. I will miss that earthly light.

Nate you are the most wonderful brother in law any one could ask for. You are awesome with my kids. You are a fantastic husband to my amazing sister Abby. I give credit for this to your father Ed. He and your mother raised one of the most spectacular people I will ever know ..you! =) Love your sister in- law Stephanie.
