Edwin Barrineau

So sorry to learn of Admiral Barrineau's passing. I live next door to a beautiful property he owned in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Occasionally, he would visit and care for the property. When I would see he was there, I would go next door and visit with him. His love of the property was evident. Eventually, I 'Googled' Edwin Barrineau to know a little more about my neighbor, and only then did I discover that he was a decorated national hero. Just today did I learn of his passing. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Thank you, Admiral Barrineau, for your service, and may God rest your soul.

This wonderful man was my boss at VSE, At 20 years of age I was his Executive Assistant in my first government contract job. From him I learned timeliness, professionalism, even how he liked his coffee. His own professionalism was a model of perfection. He had been on my mind for 4-5 months then I decided to look him up today. I am now a successful business owner in the 805 and 310 area codes. RIP Rear Admiral Barrineau.

Mrs Barrineau & Family,
So sorry for your lose. It was my pleasure to have served with him in VF-173 from 50-to 54. We have lost touch with so many from the squadron over the years, but I am proud of his accomplishments as I am sure you are too. Thanks for his service. Rolf K. Hartmann ("Poncho"

To quote, "The world has lost a true gentleman and patriot." Our sincere condolences to the family. We remember a fine officer who crossed the equator aboard the USS Wasp with us on the way to Korea. Our numbers have dwindled but some of us from VF-173 still make squadron reunions and remember one in JAX in particular that he attended. Our hearts go out to you, from the VF-173 crew by Doc White (HM2/EdD)
