I only had the pleasure of spending one short afternoon with Trudie. In that little bit of time I could see what a kind, caring and funny woman she was. I could tell just how much she loved you Denise.

Trudie and I met when she came with her daughter, Denise to her doctor's appointments at the VA Clinics in Phoenix. I had been friends with Denise since 2008. Trudie and I began talking about Denise, then over the next several months, Trudie began telling me such wonderful stories about herself, her husband and Denise. I really looked forward to seeing her each month. Once we even sat together at the VA day surgery clinic for 8 hours talking, and I could have listened to Trudie's stories all night. I love Trudie, and she will be in my thoughts and my heart forever.

Trudie and I met when I was married to 1st husband, Jack Todd. Jack's dad and Trudie's husband, Bert, were childhood friends and grew up in the same area of Missouri. I met both of them in Warrensburg MO sometime between 1967 and 1969. Trudie was my mom during those years; I was having a bad time with my own mom back then. Trudie saved my life, literally, with Alan's help after one of many fights with that husband. She was my friend, part mom, part girlfriend, part mentor. I was lucky to be around the Eichelberger family. I remember when the twins first went into braces. They were 10 years old and I was 19 -- a big difference in ages during that stage of life! I knew when the girls visited their orthodontist and that Trudie would be serving spaghetti for supper. I helped set the table dozens of times. Love you, Trudie, and truly hope to see you upstairs when my time comes.
