I always called you Gene, but to everyone else, I called you my Dad, “the Saint”. You touched my life in a way that is difficult to put into words. My heart is heavy with sadness. I loved you and will miss you more than you will ever know. Your daily emails of political antidotes or just a note to say, "Girl, you WILL survive the life of your teenagers”, were a bright spot in my day. You are the most patient man I have ever met. That trait of patience came in handy when you fell in love with my mother. Another thing both Bobbie Jo, Debbie, and I will be forever thankful for. You loved her unconditionally and we never had to worry about her, because you were there taking care of her every need and desire. I can only hope that I grow old with such a selfless soul and a true gentleman, in every sense of the word. You were so many things to so many people…… To me, you will always be my Dad, “the Saint”. I love you and miss you.
