In 1966 at Parthenia Street school Miss Fox was helping me pronounce Rs and Ss. One day I had a breakthrough, and was able to correctly say Fern Fox. Thank you.
Very sad to just learn this. I didn't know Fern well, but she was always a ray of sunshine. We met through my neighbor. Later I'd come to her condo and taught her how to use her computer. She was a quick learn, and joy to hang out with. Prayers to her and her family.
Dear Keri and Ray,
Outrageous! Uninhibited! Fun-loving! Multi-talented! These were our first reactions to Fern, seeing her do a belly dance at Esther Meyer's retirement celebration. She was 'bigger than life' and celebrated life. Many knew and loved her as a hiker, dancer, skier, artist, and warm, supportive friend. Her professional side was also impressive. When I had a serious question about speech pathology, the fun-loving, humorous Fern became serious and gave me superb advice. Fern was always giving--giving--giving. Politics didn't matter; we had service men and women overseas and they needed support. Of course, Fern was involved.....always helping and supporting people as well as celebrating the joys of life. Oh, how she is missed but high energy acts of selflessness perpetuate her memory.
