Terry,
Since meeting Brent a little over two years ago there have been events that particularly resonate in my heart- being asked to fly to Kansas and meet his family was one of them… and now you have become my family and I am moved to share how special it was to have had the chance to meet Fred. To be so warmly welcomed in a home, shaped by years with one another; through the good times and bad, sickness and in health, and ultimately his departure from this physical plane. It is bittersweet to write this as I am just starting on that journey you and Fred took 54 years ago. I ache for your loss yet find inspiration in your example and my heart is with you during this time.

Love,
Mikita

Grandma,

Grandpa was a man worth remembering. I can't think of the last time we were together that he wasn't in a good mood with something to talk about. He was always on top of current news, sports, and what cards were in your hand. I will miss his sense of humor. I will miss his wisdom and understanding. I will miss the marathon game days we used to have with Pizza at the end.

I will miss Grandpa.

Love,
Gavin

Grandma,

There isn't a memory I have of Grandpa where he wasn't smiling and happy. His jovial and adventerous personality is something that has shaped me as a child and will continue to shape me as I get older. He was a great man and means the world to all of us. He will be, as we Marines say, "Never Forgotten".

Love,
Brent

Dear Terry:

When Betty White was on the Barbara WaWa special last year, she was asked about her age...

White went on to reveal that in terms of death, she believes it to be a great mystery that we all must solve. "My mother had a wonderful philosophy. She said, 'Nobody knows what happens at that moment of death; nobody knows the secret. " She then went on to say that she was curious about dying, but that when the moment comes, she'll get to "know the secret."

I thought what a wonderful way to look at our futures and our fates. We get to learn the secret. Fred has gotten to learn the secret.

Dear Terry,

I am very saddened to hear of Fred's passing. He was such a kind, wonderful, happy person. What a wonderful cousin he was to all of us. I will always remember his laughing eyes and quick smile. I know this is a very hard time for you and your children. Just know you are in my heart and thoughts.

Love,

Jane
