I cannot even begin to express the state of both shock and sadness when I found out about George's passing. We had lunch right before his surgery and I visited him at the VA right after his surgery and he was in such good spirits. I even said that we would get together for lunch soon...how I wish I had the opportunity to buy him lunch right now...my thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Lifting you up in prayer always. Dear Libby, Garrett, and Tristan,
When we got home and saw your phone number on the caller ID, we thought, "Yay, George is passing through the area and he wants to stop!" We always looked forward to those visits even if they were only for an hour or two. Imagine how shocked we were to listen to Tristan's message. Our hearts are broken right along with yours. We will always treasure our Little League and MYBL days with Garrett and Tommy as well as the time your family spent living in Mountaintop, PA. Our last conversation with George was Thanksgiving weekend. He sat down and was calling all the people in his life that he was thankful for. We're so glad that he included our family in that list, and we pray he knew we felt the same way. May your wonderful memories of George get you all through this most difficult time. He loved you all so very much.
With deepest condolences,
Tom, Cindy, Tommy, and Stephanie Lyons
