Gerald "Pete" McBride

To the mcbride family . My sympathy .
Pete was a nice person and I remember many good times with him .
I remember when we bought our first cars , sky hawks

Pete was a delight as a neighbor. He and my younger brothers spent hundreds of days and thousands of hours playing baseball and board games. Pete was a good kid. I am always going to remember that. Pete always took time to say, "Hello". I am going to miss that.

Pete was one of my students in my early years as a teacher at Holly high school. I would see him driving around Holly in his pickup truck, oxygen in toe and with a great attitude. Once in a while I would see him in the front school parking lot where I would get the chance to chat, laugh and to say hello to a truly great guy. He was a beloved Holly fixture. I had the privilege of having his nieces Brittany and Bethany in class as well as other family members that this old guy might not remember (but you know I care about you too). I know he loved them as well as the rest of his family very much. What saddens me is that Pete was one of my first students and one of many that provided the catalyst for me to love this community very much. I will always miss his "Hello Mr. Church." Pete, you will always be in my fondest of memories as a teacher in Holly. Thanks for being yourself. You were truly a loving man. Today, you, your family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. I was so sorry to hear of Pete's passing. He was in my life quite a bit growing up and he will be fondly remembered. May you all find peace with your loss and grief.
