Dear Frank and John,

Bev and I were very sorry to hear about your dad. I was hired in the Panama Canal's Administrative Services Division in 1960 and your dad was the first person I met. We worked side-by-side for years, handling budget responsibilities, preparing correspondence for the Governor's staff and helping to manage a number of branches within the division. He was extremely intelligent and, as our budget officer, was a great watchdog for how the division spent its money - keeping us all out of jail! We met your mom when she first came over from Japan and watched as the both of you grew up in the Canal Zone. Your dad was a good friend and a mentor to me when I first started work - helping me get through some rough spots - and was known as a loyal, extremely hard-working and dedicated employee of the Panama Canal.
Please accept our deepest condolences - I'm sure you will miss him a great deal, but perhaps you will find comfort in knowing that he lived a good, honorable and full life.
