Dear Gail, Jane, and families
I have thought about your mom so much lately and realize how much I will miss my chats with her, knowing that for you and your family that void will be there for each and every one, but the memories of her eases the loss.. Every conversation was a time of laughter, learning and love. When I would see her on Sundays and I would take a moment to talk with her, we always held hands and she would relate such interesting stories of her life and she would also inquire about what I have been doing.
Whenever I admired her outfit, she would tell me about which wedding she had first worn it. If it was jewelry I was speaking of, she also would tell me which grandchild had given it to her.
Not only was she interesting, she was interested in everything around her. What a wealth of knowledge in her 101 years. She seemed able to offer a one-size-fits-all kind of friendship that spanned the ages, a rare quality indeed, in this day and age.
Please know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers on Saturday as you gather for her service. Even though I am in Florida, my heart will be at St. Augustine's with you all.
Love, Carolyn Fogg
