Dear Wendy and Family:

I was so saddened to read about your father's passing. It is never easy to lose the ones we love, but may your fond and wonderful memories of him guide you through these diffuclt days. All my thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family.

Love always,

Mr. Abbott was loyal to and protective of his neighborhood. He was a man of routine and honor. I last spoke to him three days before his death when we met outside the nearby gates surrounding Monroe. As depleted as he was, he was sticking to his routine and taking out the garbage. He did this independently and per usual, refused help. I only knew the retired Abbott, but we spoke of his past with regularity over the last three years and I grew quite fond of him. He will be missed by many.

Gordon, Eamon and I were very happy to see you on our visit to San Francisco last August. It was so good to see you. I just want to say the memory I will always keep with me was how gentle and loving you were with Aunt Rosemary when you, Mayme, Eamon and I went to visit her in the hospice. You were so kind and patient speaking to Aunt Rosemary in trying to explain to her that Mayme and I were there. May you rest in peace.

Dear Abbott family,
Gordon held a special place in our hearts-he was always kind and generous to Jack when they were on the Republican Central Committee together. Gordon kind of took Jack under his wing and mentored him. We will remember him as a loving person. Rest in Peace, Gordon.
