I considered Harley my best friend. At an IBM conference, maybe summer 1989,Harley was demonstrating microcalc, written for DOS. It was the most amazing software I had ever seen. As Dean of Math and Science, I told Harley I would purchase the software for the college as soon as I got home. He said he would in-service my 40plus math faculty for the price of a plane ticket...so he came to Tampa, I had him stay in myn home, and from that day we became friends, and I felt best friend when he joined us in Jacksonville for three years, ten years later. He could not stand the low level of mathematics in Florida and had to return to Michigan.
I will miss him. For the last 8 years were conversed by phone at least once a week.
I felt he was my brilliant big brother
