I am so sorry to hear of Harold's passing. He had a wonderful sense of humor. When asked if he was part of the Country Club set, he would say in his dead-pan way that his club was McDonald's! But he could also be a serious and sensitive guy. He supported cooperation among the Episcopal Churches in Greensboro and was a regular visitor at the lenten suppers at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. Harold was not only a hearer of the Word, he was a doer of the Word. Rest in Peace, dear Harold.
My deepest sympathy for the passing of your beloved family member, "Sonny".
"Sonny" welcomed me to the Avery family when I first came to Greensboro as the wife of Al. C. Avery III in 1967. I will always remember his gracious hospitality and friendly manners.
He will be missed.
Mrs. Al. C. Avery III (Claudine)
