Hal Salfen was a mentor and dear friend to me and my family for the past 37+ years. Hal was an amazing role model as well and had such a giving heart to all that had the priviledge of knowing him.
Besides myself, my entire family got to know and love Hal over the years. In addition, we got to know many other members of the Salfen family and most of all his youngest son Marty. In fact, I consider Marty one of my dearest friends as well as his beautful sole mate Stephenine Mower.
Hal's contributions to the International Airline Passengers Assocication are numerous and significant when it comes to passengers rights and safety.
Hal will be missed, but know that he's in the care of our Lord and Savior and with his wife Marge and son Jack.
My deepest sympathy in your loss. The boys and I have fond memories of "Pop"
It was an honor to have known Pop and shared memories with him. I know you are each so proud to have had him as a part of your family and circle of special friendships.
When our time here on earth is through, we should all hope to have such a legacy and be remembered so fondly, by so many.
Wishing God's comfort to you now, and His promise to be reunited with those we love in the future.
The Nevada Jaycees Senate and Old Timers send our deepest sympathies. As GA president he was our friend and will always be.

Marty: Peggy Gachet here as a blast from the past. Your Dad was special to many people but especially me. I still have some of the old Delta memorabilia he gave me when cleaning out his garage back in 1984. May you be given strength to deal with the great loss.
