Pictured here with her three sons one month before her passing, Hilda was vibrant throughout the last year of her life. We enjoyed rich conversation, walks, meals, entertainment and chores together. We are so thankful that we could return for time with her in Utah after being away for four years.
She passed out of this Earthly world on a sunshiny July day, a lover of all things natural and spiritual. One year earlier she completed five of her Seven Canyons in Seven Days annual hiking event. Her physicality and strength of character light the way for us.
She also literally brought light in this last decade to the visually impaired and dying with her volunteer Hospice work and reading to the blind.
Let it be said, this is a woman who lived by her convictions of kindness and openness. Her example of embracing tradition and things new, while living a principled life, will burn on brightly come rain or shine.

Hilda has been a wonderful addition to my life. All of her cards and notes I've received from her over the years have brought me through some very trying times. Truly an angel on earth, now an angel in heaven. I will miss her kind words of encouragement and love. I will miss her ever present smile, strength and love.

We all want to be like Hilda. God truly blessed us by getting to know Hilda. We will miss her at all church events and especially at CWF meetings. God blessed her with much wisdom. She was an inspiration to me and I loved her. I will miss her sticky notes. Condolences and sympathy to the family. I'm sure you have many wonderful memories of her.

Granny is one of the most influential people in my life. She loved so unconditionally, not just family but everyone she ever touched. I am a better Christian , person, mother, and wife because of her and her wisdom. I don't know that there were ever words invented to describe my feelings of loss and gratitude. Granny is the voice inside my head. Huge thanks to my amazing aunts for their care and respect for her. Granny would love how everything was handled. Love to everyone who has honored Granny.
