My wife and I spent time in the Canyon only days before Ioana fell. Viewing the photos leaves an inspiration from a woman who clearly loved life, her arms in the air so many times is an expression we all should emulate--now we know she soars with the eagles, Godspeed Ioana. Peace to those who knew her and loved her.

Did my first Grand Canyon backpack on backcountry trails last April. Having done there in my 65 years maybe 1% of what Ioana did in her shortened life, and still being boundlessly in love with the place, I can only imagine her spiritual attachment to the Canyon. My heartfelt sympathies to all her loved ones and friends.
