During college, I started to notice that every time I saw Mr. Allen, it seemed he was driving the same kind of car (even one identical Honda in the early 80's) that my parents or I had. And we used to joke about that over the years as we went through VW's, Honda, and even Subarus, I think. Of course I went to high school with his older kids and then taught the youngest some time later. Despite illness at the end, I remember his humor and graciousness when our paths crossed over the years.
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I will always remember his amazing patience while being bugged by this once little neighbor kid with 1,000 questions.
