I was filled with sadness over Uncle Jimmy's passing. He was a wonderful man and I have very fond memories of him, Aunt Lou and my parents (Olivia & Manny Moura). Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

Jim, Georgia & family, Please accept my sympathy during your time of loss. I have fond memories of your Dad during his Knights of Columbus days when he had business dealings with the Town. He always stopped by my office to chat.

Mr. Madruga belonged to several groups among them, his generation referred to in America as "The Greatest Generation"! Mr Madruga whom I was honored to know since my little league days in Acushnet was the epitomy of that generation. A true meaning of the word Gentleman. A strong man yet reserved in tone and stature. A servant to his country and along with his wife, servants to his community.

No there are not many of these great men and women left and we should try our best to honor those few who are as requested by the Madruga family in his obituary.

As the song goes "Who's Going To Fill Their Shoes"? The answer to that is no one will ever fill his shoes and our hearts go out to his family, knowing that one more man (from the greatest generation) that we knew has gone on to his Creator. What we have lost is
The Almighty's gain. Thank you Mr. Madruga for being our friend, it sincerly was our privlege and our honor every time we met, spoke & the times working the local festivals.

Today is surely a sad day, as your spirit has departed but that charm & personality will always remain with us. As my senior years have arrived, I just wish I had the time to be half the man you were.
