We just heard the sad news about the passing of Mr. Raney...please accept our sympathy and prayers...Mr. Raney was a guest at our upland hunting ranch in Kansas for many years...he was a fine sportsman and a gentleman and we'll miss seeing him...
I met James 33 years ago when I was a first year transfer student at SFA. I was a customer at his book store. I met him again 3 years ago. James was dignified, decent, funny, and just a good man. He loved life and Vida. I am better for knowing him as so many are. Rest well.
Our sincerest condolences to the Raney family. I know of James through Theda who let us in the Wesley Sunday School class pray for him. In pray for the family.

Nacogdoches has lost one of our finest community leaders. James' influence is widespread, and all of us who knew him are better people for it. He was such a true gentleman, in every sense. Our prayers are with the entire Raney family.
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. After viewing the photo gallery, I know the Raney family have a multitude of fond memories that will live in their hearts forever. Nacogdoches has lost a dear friend to our community. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
