Steve, our deepest condolences to you and your family. We know that Jamie's passing has left a huge hole in many people's lives, including ours. Our time with you both in Crete (and Santorini!) was great fun and a true gift. Jamie humbled me for her ability to ride hard after chemo!!! We were so impressed with Jamie's bravery, positive attitude and deep caring for others. We will remember her always. Debra and Scott
My condolences to Jamie's family and loved ones. I knew and was very good friends with Jamie in jr. high school, Charles F. Hartman. We were the best of friends one year...only to go to different high schools! I remember her fun, crazy laugh and carefree attitude, but I suppose we all were that way in jr. high! Her laugh was loud and infectious back then and I can only imagine what a great woman she turned out to be. I've lived in Colorado for 28 years but all my family still lives in Houston. My brother called me two weeks ago to ask if I knew a Jamie Dickey...and that she had recently passed. She was an important person in my life path and I can only imagine how important she was in yours'. May she rest in peace...and may her travels continue...God bless you all! Michelle Herrea-Welch
What an amazing woman. I read about her in the paper and it seems she could have been my sister. I also trail run rim to rim with friends yearly and its very cool to hear about another woman who loved to do it. I wish I could have met her as she was clearly taken fm this world too soon. My deep
condolences to her family and friends who I know feel her loss deeply.
Steve and family,
Back in the late 1990s, I ran into Jamie in an airport...Houston or Dallas, can't recall. I had met her only twice, and both times were brief encounters. She learned I had a couple of hours wait time and although she scarcely knew me she instantly invited me to her membership club lounge, saving me the tedium and minimum comforts of seats at the gate and opening up a span of warm and interesting conversation. Just one of what I'm sure are innumerable examples of Jamie's generous and open spirit. As with so many others, Jamie will live on in my mind and heart and always be a source of personal inspiration.
I am thinking about you and your family. She was a great loving friend and will be missed. I will always have great memories of our fun times in the Canyon.
