To all of the Babala children,

I am so sorry I could not attend the services for Uncle John. He was a wonderful man and I was happy to know him. He and Marianne were very good to Mike and I and we enjoyed visits to your house. I am also glad I got to see him and Dianne for dinner last winter and enjoy his company. Such a nice man. I am sorry for your loss and hope all your good memories will sustain you.

Sincerely,
Laurie Smith

So sorry to hear of John's passing!

I met John as a supplier back in 1974 and we spent a lot of time together until I left for a new assignment in 1978.

Even though we never met again after I left Flint in 1978, we kept in touch and developed a life long relationship. I admired John for his devotion to his family, to God and his special sense of humor, his wisdom and practical problem solving and the fact that his golf game was worse than mine.

Regardless of what subject we were discussing, business or personal, I can not count the number of times John would use one of these responses: "Let me tell you something"---"No-No-No-No"--"Unbelievable" and his favorite liar's poker opening bid of "One Deuce." And, then that special smile would beam across his face.

I feel a void in my heart with his passing and I will always remember and pray for John.
