My Dearest Josie,
My heart sank in sorrow, as I read of John's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. John had such a beautiful spirit, full of compassion, a great sense of humor, and a hard worker. May the wonderful memories that the two of you, and your family shared comfort you at this difficult time.
I worked in Engineering Service with John at Fort Howard VA Hospital. When I first arrived there in June 1971 John welcomed me and took an interest in me. John calmed me when I needed it and put a gentle foot in my behind when I needed that! John was a fantastic role model.
John understood & appreciated the Veterans that needed services at Fort Howard! I witnessed John working directly with many veterans. It was always clear to me that John was not just doing a job, he was connecting with those veterans on a personal level. The veterans appreciated and trusted John Croucher!
John Croucher was a humble individual. John was mild mannered & genuine
John was so proud of his family. He would come to work and tell us all about Josie's accomplishments. John would name each of his children and give us a regular update for their progress in school and life. But John also took time to listen and ask questions about our families.
John Croucher was a very special person in my life at Fort Howard. I will always remember John & his Mayfield home telephone number (410-732-1877)
Celebrate a long life, well lived. Cherish those memories. So sorry for your loss and I know we just met merely a month ago, but I wanted to express my condolences and I am thinking about you Terri and your family!
We are thinking of you all and praying that you find peace in this difficult time. Your father was such a kind, happy person and his happiness was infectious. We are honored to have known him.
Maureen, Mark, Colleen and Lauren Martin
Josie, Just thinking of John brings a smile.to my face. My fondest memories are when you, John, Warren and myself would go out to dinner to celebrate our achievements in nursing school. And John would say, Nursing is an honorble profession . Such a wonderful person will not be forgotten. Marlene Schildgen
