As I wended my way to the university library where I work, part of my daily routine entailed that I greet Dr. Foster as he crossed my path. We had a cordial relationship for years and as he began to walk slower and slower, I would assist him with his briefcase and walk him to his car or to his office. He was always cordial and such a gentleman. I shall miss our daily encounters. He always radiated peace and tranquility.

We are very sorry about John Robert Foster's passing. He accomplished so
much, and because of his extensive
family research we cousins know more about our ancesters. Our future family members will be glad to have this information. Concerning Bob's sense of humor, I spent quite a bit of time with his mother,Mattie Littlefield Foster when she lived in Oklahoma City. On Saturdays we grocery shopped and had lunch together. She told funny stories about her younger years and loved to talk about Bob, Joanne and their three sons. She loved them so much. Mattie wanted to live in her home here but Bob came as often as he could. As her health began to fail he moved her near his family in El Paso.
Family meant a great deal to him; we all knew it.
This is a sad loss and we pray for
his family during this difficult time.

Every single living thing experiences death. What is important is that we are all beneficial to our societies and worship our lord for everything he has gifted us. As I read the obituary of Dr. Foster, he served his people and harmed no one. May His Soul Rest in Peace.I wish his family a happy life.
