Today I called to wish all our friends from Topographic Merry Christmas, and I found that Mr. Keating passed. I was so, so sorry. WHAT A GREAT MAN!
We are privileged and honored that we knew him.
We keep his autobiographical book on a table in our living room, and we are proud that he mentioned us there. It came in my mind so many conversations that I had with him in places like his office at Topographic, Chinese restaurant, the sail boat, or at his Country Club.
I remember learning from him the English expression "Good for you", him taking me to see a lawyer when I needed an advice, or taking me to Oklahoma Society of Engineers and Surveyors.
I also remember some of the best Christmas Parties ever, staying with him and Mrs. Barbara at the same table, talking about places in Colorado, the beginnings of Topographic, politics or that I eat too much ice cream.
When Smaranda had the opening of her medical practice in McAlester we were so proud to have them there as our most special guests.
I was looking forward to visit Oklahoma City and to see him again... He will always be in our hearts.
With heartfelt condolences,
Smaranda and Iuri
I just got back from England, and both George and I missed the obituary in the newspaper. We became acquainted with John and his beautiful dance partner, Barbara, at Ingrids, and how we enjoyed dancing with them, sometimes even changing partners. My ,how we will miss them both on Saturdays. That was a beautiful tribute that you printed and how we enjoyed reading it. Our love to Barbara, Ellen Jayne Wheeler and George Camp
My condolences to the Keating family. I worked for John for eight years hand drafting in the 70s and 80s at Topographic. Those were the good old days. He was a great man and friend that I will never forget. He helped me through a very difficult personal time in my life. His work ethic was remarkable, always fair, kind and always in a good mood. He was that kind of guy. The world was a better place with him in it. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to the Keating Family. He was a good man and friend to everyone he met. He will be missed!

This is tough. There isn't enough room here or really enough words to describe the influence John had on my life. I know that I probably wouldn't be where I was today if it wasn't for him. He was a true gentleman and a friend. God blessed John Keating and everyone he encountered
