My dad was an amazing man. He loved our family in a way that speaks volumes of love, he always took care of us. He never ceased to show great work ethic as he provided every need we had as a family. He provided a stable point for wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in a world where many fail to see that as important for a family to thrive. He taught great moral values and helped us develop character in ways that I did not see as a child but now recognize as devotion to us.
My fondest memory is working beside him in the garage on multiple woodworking projects as I drew the designs and he cut the many intricate pieces out, carefully sanding each and painstakingly placing every piece in place to ensure that whoever received it knew that he gave that time for them. I remember the small rocking horses he made with the clacking sound of hoofs as they gently rocked on their bases and the many stand up wooden puzzles we made for grandchildren and to take to the toddler room at church so that little hands could take them apart and put them back together with great pride and giggles.
The last conversation we shared was about his leaving this earth and it seems today that he was trying tell me he was ready as told me how very tired and sick he was. Four weeks later he rested. I know that he will be there to greet me when I leave this world for my home with Jesus. Until then I will thank God for a dad who was always there, even when I was grown and had my own family.
I love you dad, thank you for being a great dad.

My Great Papaw, where do I start? I love my Papaw with all of my heart. I am 100% positive that I wouldn't be where I am today without my Memaw, and Papaw. If I were to see him right now I would say," you didn't have to worry because I started off as your watch dog, and that is how it will stay forever, and ever!" Before he left I laid next to him, whispered in his ear saying;" I will always be your watch-dog". I knew the time was coming. He mumbled something, but it was too late... I will love him FOREVER & ALWAYS!

As We Look Back
Author Unkown

As we look back over time
We find ourselves wondering...
Did we remember to thank you enough for all you have done for us.
For all the times you were by our sides to help and support us...
To celebrate our successes
To understand our problems
And accept our defeats ?
Or for teaching us by your example,
The value of hard work, good judgement,
Courage and integrity ?
We wonder if we ever thanked you
For the sacrifices you made.
To let us have the very best ?
And for the simple things
Like laughter, smiles and times we shared ?
If we have forgotten to show our
Gratitude enough for all the things you did,
We're thanking you now.
And we are hoping you knew all along,
How much you meant to us.

Dear Joe;
It was your time to go,Saturday November 3, 2012 at 3:07 p.m.
I had to tell you I loved you and say good-bye.
Thank you for all the years we shared together. As I look back, I wouldn't change any of them.
When it is my time to leave here, my hope, is to be with you, again. This time forever !
I love you everday. I miss you everyday. You will always be in my heart.
May peace and joy be with you.
Your Wife,
Janet (Nanny)

I only met Joe and his wife a few times while visiting my daughter in Greensburg. He was very welcoming and I enjoyed our time which we exchanged our Navy experiences. During my visit, I witnessed how well he and his wife treated my daughter, Im very thankful for that. My deepest sympathy goes out to Joes family.
