Awwww little "Naincy". My eyes filled with big crocodile tears when I read your entry. I miss the Colonel too. I was just telling someone a couple of days ago about when your Dad and I and Kin were playing pool ... and your Dad was such a sport. You will see him again one day, little ballet mom. Yet, I know that doesn't help today. Admiring you always for your patience and adoration for the "driveway/street guardian" ..... Kimbersan

I miss my daddy more than words can say. He was our shepherd. My sisters and my brother and I are all lost sheep without him.
I have tried to contact those of you who have shared your kind words but I keep getting "message failure" Please feel free to contact me at 919-781-2781

I am so sorry to hear about Bert. I know he will be missed but it is truly a blessing he lived a long life. May comfort and peace be with each of you and God give you the strength to continue on.

Colonel Bailey was a strong figure in my childhood, being the dad of one of my BFFs (Laura Jane!). I spent many a day and night at the Bailey home, and I remember hearing the strained sounds on the HAM radio in the basement as he communicated with people around the world. Bedtime was accompanied with a strict lights out policy. Getting up in the middle of the night could be met with a flashlight to the eyes! I remember early mornings at the local track. Laura Jane and I watching her dad circle the track again and again in his grey sweats. His energy and discipline were second to none!
I knew he was someone to be respected, but it wasn't until later that I understood how much he was to be admired and honored. I now understand the greatness of the man that was my friend's dad. His service to our country, his bravery and his heroism will never be forgotten. My thoughts and love are with the Bailey family.

One of the most unforgettable characters I have ever known. Job well done, Mr. B...rest in peace!
