It has been a long hard year of missing you. Doing all of the things that we once did with you by our side. Remembering all of the joy and laughter that you brought to our lives. We miss you terribly!

The good times we spent together in the Air Force, while stationed at Larson AFB, Washington will be a lasting memory to me. Our love and prayers are with all of you.

While I didn't get to know Larry all that well personally, what I do know of him I Iearned mostly through the lives of his children and grandchildren. I know that Larry served in the military, thus I learned he was a man of honor and integrity with a love for his country and family. I know he has a beloved dog who would miss him dearly whenever he was away, thus, I learned he had a kind and gentle heart. I know he had an interest in sharing and exploring, which I learned in listening to him talk to his grandson about his precious gem collection. I know he had a twinkle in his eye, and I learned quickly that it reflected his witty sense of humor and his relentless desire to tease and joke. Laney was a recipient of teasing on more than one occasion, and it's now clear to me that he targeted the little ones because the older ones were already on to his good natured nonsense. :-) Along those same lines, I learned that the primary use of his cane was not for mobility but more so for poking, hooking or snatching things from people, again, usually the little ones. I will remember Larry as a fun loving, hardworking man dedicated to providing a happy life for his family and living life to the fullest. I feel blessed to have met him.
We pray for the Thurman Family to be surrounded by much peace and comfort during the days ahead. Much love to you all!

John and I have lost a good friend. He had a good sense of humor and a giving personality. I wish we would have had more time to share stories with him. We had fun going out with him and Eileen. We will think about him often, will miss him at thr NARFE meetings.
