Ann, I am truly sorry about your mother's passing. I have had the privilege of trimming her trees on several occasions in years past. I always enjoyed working for her because of her wonderful garden and our shared interest in gardening and plants. I have met and visited Rosemary Verey at her former home and garden and own several of her books. Both Rosemary's and your mother's gardens were forever changing; and their friendship is certainly a testimony to your mother's gardening knowledge and love of plants. Whenever I was working near your mother's home, I would pass by to see what was new or in bloom. If she was out in the garden, I would stop and talk. I don't know that she knew that we were schoolmates. I always wanted to travel with her and loved hearing about all the places she had been and she was going to. Why is it, that now, when I can afford to and have the time to really enjoy folks like your mother, that we lose them? She gave me an old pair of rose snips that I found in her yard while doing some tree work. I will always cherish them just knowing they were hers. God bless you and your family.

Ollie helped us buy our beloved house in Cameron Park in 1985 and gave me cuttings from her beautiful garden for my garden that still bloom and always make me think of her. On my walk each morning through the neighborhood, I pass her house and have always felt somehow comforted seeing the back of her white head in the window as she read her newspaper. I have missed that and will continue to miss it but I know her legacy lives on in many many gardens and memories.

Ann, Jeff and Spencer - I remember all of you well, and your mom as I was growing up, funny how those times don't seem that long ago. My love to you all - Laurie ( Toole)
