Dr. LeRoy J. Kleinsasser M.D.

June 19, 2014
Dear Family of Dr. Kleinsasser,
My sister Mary Martinez, had Open Heart Surgery in 1956. Dr. Kleinsasser was one of the fine doctors that saved her life! She is my sis, best friend, and has been for 61 years! She is an amazing woman, so full of life and energy, thanks to Dr. Kleinsasser and the of medical team that assisted with her care. I just wanted you to know how far your Dad's talent...gift, reached. God bless you all, I know you will miss him. Please know that you are all in my prayers. With much gratitude, Patricia Hampton

He was a lovely, caring, talented man, and the best grandfather a girl could ask for. I will treasure memories of his fun and mischievous spirit at family gatherings. His cheerful, knowing grin and playful sense of humor are my favorite recollections of time spent with him. To the world he was a brilliant man, respected surgeon, and much more; to me he was and will always be the proud and loving grandfather it was my honor to have. We will miss him.

There couldn't have been a kinder, more loving, or supportive father. He took me on a college tour to help me make up my mind between Duke and Smith and put deposits on both because I couldn't decide! Smith was still sending him letters 10 years later. Most of all I appreciated the love and consideration this trip exemplified. I will never forget him and love him always.

It was always a treat to dance with Roy; however, it was difficult to keep up with him! He was a fine gentleman and a terrific dance partner.

Grandpa had a keen mind, an open heart, and a great sense of humor. He had healthy habits which I am sure contributed to his longevity. Starting with the morning exercise bike, and sometimes ending with a nice glass of scotch! He worked hard, and he also knew how to relax and play. He was always interested in his grandchildren, and delighted with visits and phone calls. He gave good, practical advice. He listened with attention. We will miss our loving grandfather.
