My husband and I were very sorry to hear of Linda Barkers passing. I knew her to be a very humble, quiet, and gracious person. I had the opportunity to teach with Linda at the Ave. E Elementary school where she taught Social Studies. She took her duty as teacher very seriously. She gave of her best each day that she wa able to share her knowledge with the students she taught. She always had a smile to share with those around her. I will miss her and her smaile. We have lost a precious friend and fellow teacher. I treasure my memories from school and also from our little social get togethers like our "slumber party" at Lake Buchanan. She was a dear like no other.

As a second grader in Moody, I was so thrilled that I had "the pretty teacher!"
However, she proved to be the best teacher, and one that I always remembered with fondness. You knew she loved her students genuinely. She played a part in my becoming a teacher also. It has been over fifty years, but I can still remember that special, beautiful smile that she shared daily.
God Bless your family.
With sympathy,
