Linda Jane Torres (Leatherman)
Sorry for my ole friend Linda. We used to gather at another friend's on elm st.and have some good times listening to what they now call the oldies.
My sincere condolences to the family. All of her students at Bath Sr. High School will forever remember her laughing while she taught Spanish Class. Even some of us didn't "get it"; she always had a way of being kind, yet firm to each of us along the way. Many wonderful memories and laughter in her classroom, and she was always respected by all of her students. As a teacher, she will always be remembered for caring about her students learning. Mrs. Torres was a one of kind teacher, and she will be missed. She was a wonderful person. Prayers to the family during this time of healing. What a blessing to know she is with the Lord.
Linda and I met on a work and witness trip via the Nazarene church to the Mid East. We shared a room and had many conversations about her family, her teaching career, her current health concerns, and her love of the Lord. Linda was a true human being and was a wonderful conversationalist. She was a straight shooter and didn't pull any punches on discussion of any subject.. I enjoyed our three weeks together working and touring Israel. I am full of sorrow hearing of her death and I send my condolences to her family. She was a great human being and I am blessed for meeting and knowing her for the three short weeks in 2011. Linda was gruff, at times, but underneath the gruffness, she was very caring and loving of the human spirit. My sincere sympathies.
