It was a great shock to know your kind dad passed away. I tried to think of what to write. Then I prayed to Mang Mariano to help me say something to you and I remember this poem I read some years back. After arriving from Germany, I looked for it and here it goes....your dad wants you to know...
I Am The Gentle Autumn's Rain
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousnd winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush.
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there.
I did not die.
My family who had known your dad (he being the classmate of our mother in high school) is extending our heartfelt condolences to you and your brothers and sister Winnie. The nuns and brothers at the Divine Mercy are praying for him and he is included in their daily mass intentions.
Tessie, Rey and the entire CAYETANO family
Dearest Tony, Lito, Winnie, Allan, Aris and Archie,
I am saddened to hear about the passing away of Uncle Mariano. I am sure that this is a difficult time for all of you. It seems so unexpected. I pray that God will help to ease the pain of your loss. Your dad was a very kind man, like an angel. I will always remember his soft gentle voice. He only wanted what’s best for you. Uncle Mariano has completed his part of the journey on earth and is now in paradise. It’s for you to continue the journey for which he has prepared you. God bless us all.
With deepest sympathy from all of us,
Cesar and family.
I miss you Dad but I know you are in a happier place with our Creator.
My Dear Friends,
May God bless you during this time of grieving. Always remember the good times shared with Mariano and keep him alive in your hearts. Peace, Fr. Preston
