Mark S. Barnett

December 31, 2011
I was just searching for Wickline's website to check out some MDO info and some returned links informed me that Mark has passed away. I was surprised to see this and my heart goes out to the Barnett family. I was Brendan's music teacher for a little while at Ridgecrest, and it hurts my heart to think of her losing her daddy at such a young age. Hard to understand the reason for this hurt, I'm sure, but I hope you all, Linda, Taylor, and Brendan, are comforted in your faith and in knowing that He has a plan for you, to prosper you and to give you a hope and a future.

Mark was one of my first friends when I moved here - and he allowed me to feel like family. When my journey seemed to take me another direction, he always made me feel loved and never that I was a disappointment. What a gift that was. I will never forget the impact he had on my life and the positive changes his influence has made in me. What a great man he was. You are missed, my friend.

Linda and the girls, I have so many memories of all of us. Your family was such a critical part of my life. I wish I would have listened to your guidance a little more sometimes, Linda! My heart breaks everytime I think of your loss. It is a loss for an entire community but a very personal loss for a wife and daughters. I am so sorry. I love you all very much and I wish I could have been at his services. My heart is with you.
Love,
Loran (Latham) Mayes
