Dearest Davis Family,
I was so sad to have just learned of Mrs. Davis' passing...over the years I have thought of her and her granddaughter Crystal often as we were kindred spirits, and pen pals for some time in our youth. This friendship was brought together by the friendship shared by Mrs. Davis and my grandmother Mary Jane Ford. I looked forward to seeing them every few summers to listen to stories of their travels and adventures together! Mrs. Davis was so generous to send me a tremendous gift, envied by most girls my age at the time, a horse! And a champion of pure bloodlines too! For our small town in WI, that practically made you royalty among 4H, girls scouts and horse riding clubs for miles! My family and I will continue to pray for her eternal peace and joy in heaven, as she has provided me and so many others the gifts of peace and joy here on earth. Her kindness will never be forgotten, and I will continue to tell my children stories of her kindnesses to me and my family.
With love and sympathy,
Kate (Halaska) DeYoung, Granddaughter of Ralph and Mary Jane Ford, Daughter of Robert and Betsy (Ford) Halaska
Our prayers go out to Emy's family for their loss of such a vivacious and endearing mother/grandmother/great grandmother. Emy and Fred were so kind and thoughtful to my parents, Ralph & Mary Jane. They cherished the time spent with Emy & Fred both in Kauaii and on their boat. The support given to my father during his final illness has never been forgotten by our family. Emy also changed the life of my daughter, Kate, with her generous gift of "Rafona". Emy will always have a special place in our hearts and prayers.
For Emy's dearest family,
I am sad to hear of Emy's passing this week. She was a very good friend to my parents, Cesare & Joan, and also godmother to my late brother, Frederick. I am forever grateful to her for introducing our family to the beauty that was Camp Nor'Wester. I spent several memorable summers there. I'll never forget the time Emy sent a seaplane to pick me up after camp was over which was a lovely surprise. She had a knack for making you feel special. I will miss her warm smile.
Prayers to all the Davis family.
