Dear Perk, Gary and I are so sad to hear of Mary Lou's passing. We do so appreciate your sending us the bulletin from her funeral service so that we could see the incredible participation from your family. It must have been a beautiful moment.
Our children and I will always remember Mary Lou (and you) for her generosity of spirit when she asked us to share your home during our last few weeks at Ball State. It was a special time for us and we will always be grateful. When I tried to thank her profusely she merely said, "just pass it on..." and we have tried to do that ever since. She was a great lady, a marvelous singer and a truly kind friend. Much love to you and the whole family. Shirley and Gary
Perk, I am so sorry to learn of Ms. Mary Lou's passing. I remember her as one of the sweetest, happiest and graceful people I've known. I always looked forward to seeing her at events and functions when I worked at the Foundation and Alumni offices. I am thinking of you during this time. God Bless.
To Mr. Perk Robins and the rest of the Robins family, I wish to share my testimony about the wonderful vision and revelation the Lord gave Mary Lou a few months ago and which she shared with me just before choir practice at SFUMC. She had experienced and been given a rare glimpse of heaven in the presence of the Lord in which she was directed to see me. I praise the Lord for the life of His saintly maiden. Rejoice in the knowledge that she is eternally present with our Lord and Master Jesus who she loved so dearly. Although we shall all miss her glorious singing voice on this side of Heaven, I am celebrating the revelation that the Lord is truly delighted with her!
Miss Mary Lou will be sorely missed. To her family and close friend: you have my deepest condolences on your loss of this wonderful woman. She made me feel as if I'd known her for years when we performed together in The Sound of Music here in Statesboro.
Mary Lou's smile brightened our life in so many ways! My boys have always thought of her as a "Statesboro Grandmother!" They'll always remember their trips to the "car trunk" either at the Robins home, or in the Church parking lot for a "special" collector beanie baby or autographed baseball card from Mr. Perk & Ms. Mary Lou. We enjoyed visiting her spectacular holiday village always lit at Christmas in the Robins' home. She has touched so many lives - her singing voice would bring you as near to the Lord as possible! We will miss you so very much! May you sing on with the heavenly angels - you were one of His angels here on Earth!!!!!!!
