Susan, I have just received news from a family member in Jonesville that your mother has passed away. I have so many wonderful memories of her, your dad, and you, at the country store. I so clearly remember her laughter and wit. Her rather measured manner of speaking with the soft southern drawl rings in my memory. She was such fun to be around...always! I've thought of you many times over the years. Know that my thoughts are with you.

My Mother and Aunt were childhood friends of Maxine and Billie. Mother is 87 and still lives alone in her home in Thompson Settlement. She often stories about Maxine,Bille, Helen Sue and herself (Alice Lee). Your father turned me onto bugs when I was 10 years old and I'll never forget him for taking the time to teach me. The same for your Uncle Don who opened my eyes to the beauty of natural photography. Your family is always in our memories.

Susan, my mother and her sister: Alice Lee and Helen Sue Williams, were childhood friends of your mother and Billie. I remember playing with you when we were children (Virginia Hedrick) at your Grandparent Snodgrass's home. So many memories of your entire family. Mother is now 87 and Aunt Sue passed in 2010. Mother still lives in her Thompson Settlement Community home alone. We live on the family farm. Your Dad opened the world of bugs to me when I was about 10 years old and I have never forgotten!

We were neighbors with Art and Max for over 25 years. They sure loved their cats and "smokey" must have been their favorite. They even had a cat fence (that I had never seen before) installed. I use to enjoy seeing them walk quite often around the block and by my house. Very nice neighbors and friends.

To the family of Maxine we send our sympathy. We lived on the Cape for a number of years and spent enjoyable times at their home. Larry worked with Art for USDA. " Larry and Brenda Herbaugh, 1440 Northington Rd, Prattville, AL 36067"
